ORCA comes to Liverpool, the home of the Beatles and the luxury Hilton Liverpool hotel, a stylish, modern hotel situated in the heart of the Liverpool One leisure development, less than a mile from Liverpool Lime Street station. The conference venue is ideally situated opposite the outstanding Mersey river waterfront at the famous Albert Dock and within walking distance of many of Liverpool’s tourist attractions.
An excellent scientific programme is being planned and the social programme will include events at the famous Cavern Club, as well the magnificent St Georges Hall.
Liverpool boasts a glorious maritime history, world-beating musical heritage, two of the premiership’s biggest football teams and not one, but two majestically different
cathedrals. Following redevelopment over the past few years, the city is now bulging with fabulous new shops, has buzzing new restaurants, hip hotels and trendy wine bars, as well as world class culture and more museums and galleries than anywhere outside of London. Not forgetting its inhabitants, of course, who are famously friendly and will welcome you with pride.
Liverpool is well served by air, rail, road and sea transport links. Liverpool John Lennon Airport is just 8 miles from the City Centre and high speed train travel from London to Liverpool takes only 2 hours 8 minutes. The city can easily be reached via the M6 and North West motorway network.
